PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headrest device which prevents a degradation in actuating force in the whole actuation process, and does not result in an increase in the number of parts. SOLUTION: The headrest device is provided with a headrest body 11, a headrest supporting member 13, and an actuating plate 21. The headrest body holds a head of a passenger, and the headrest supporting member oscillates the headrest body 11. Then the actuating plate holds the headrest supporting member 13 in a predetermined position. The headrest device holds the headrest body 11 on the rear side of a vehicle in normal times. Then at the time of collision of the vehicle, the headrest device moves the headrest body 11 toward the front side of the vehicle by way of the actuating plate 21. The actuating plate 21 is so constituted that it can reverse the acting direction of a tensile load that is inputted to the headrest supporting member 13 in the middle of the movement of the headrest body 11 from the rear side to the front side of the vehicle.
