<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for manufacturing lithium titanate having high tap density and excellent packing property. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing lithium titanate by drying and granulating slurry containing a titanium compound and a lithium compound and then heating and firing, the titanium compound used contains crystalline titanium oxide and a titanate compound, and the slurry is prepared at a temperature lower than 45°C. By the method, lithium titanate having desired tap density and packing property can be manufactured even when the concentration of the titanium compound is increased during manufacturing, and can be industrially advantageously manufactured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
