<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can display self-related information or the like to a body case surface in a relatively good state of appearance with no copying mistakes. <P>SOLUTION: It is judged in step S1 whether or not there is a printing command. When there is the printing command ("Y" in step S1), setting information is read out from a self information storage region in step S2, and layout information of a mounting region preliminarily related to the setting information is read out from a layout information storage region in step S3. Data for printing so as to arrange and print self information by a predetermined font size that can be accommodated in the corresponding mounting region is generated on the basis of the layout information in step S4, and the data is sent to a printer 31 (step S5).
