PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength multiplexing device of high mass productivity at low cost. SOLUTION: The wavelength multiplexing device is equipped with surface light emitting element arrays 11 to 13 and plane light transmission paths 14. Light emitting portions 11a to 11c of the surface light emitting element array 11 all transmit the signal light of a wavelengthλ1. The light emitting portion 12a to 12c of the surface light emitting element array 12 all transmit the signal light of a wavelengthλ2. The light emitting portion 13a to 13c of the surface light emitting element array 13 all transmit the signal light of a wavelengthλ3. The signal light transmitted from the light emitting portion 11a, the light emitting portion 12a and the light emitting portion 13a are coupled to the opposing plane light transmission paths 14a. The signal light transmitted from the light emitting portion 11b, the light emitting portion 12b and the light emitting portion 13b are coupled to the opposing plane light transmission path 14b. The signal light transmitted from the light emitting portion 11c, the light emitting portion 12c and the light emitting portion 13c are coupled to the opposing plane light transmission path 14c of the plane light transmission path 14.
