PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for developing a planographic printing plate by which a photosensitive planographic printing plate using a high-definition screen in image-wise exposure can be developed without causing an image defect such as deposition of scum or the like for a long time. SOLUTION: The method for processing a planographic printing plate includes exposing a planographic printing plate having a photosensitive layer or a thermosensitive layer to laser beam, developing, washing and finishing the plate. In the image-wise exposure, a high-definition screen having≥250 lines as an AM screen or≤50μm size of the minimum pixel constituting a dot as an FM screen is used.
