ENGINE FUEL PUMP CONTROL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve startability by stably supplying sufficient fuel pressure when starting an engine. SOLUTION: This fuel pump control device is provided in the engine 1 to be operated by an accelerator pedal 13 for controlling a motor driven fuel pump 16 to forcibly feed fuel to the engine 1. It comprises a power key switch 35 for powering on the fuel pump 16 and a seat switch 36 for detecting that a driver exists in a position of operating the accelerator pedal 13. A controller 40 controls the fuel pump 16 to be preliminarily driven when it is powered on by the power key switch 35 and the driver is detected by the seat switch 36. The controller 40 allows the fuel pump 16 to be continuously driven when it is powered on similarly, the driver is detected and the operation of the accelerator pedal 13 is detected by an accelerator switch 31.
