PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generator utilizing Rankine cycle capable of constructing a power generation and hot-water supply system capable of switching between a power generation priority operation and a hot-water supply priority operation. SOLUTION: This power generator comprises the Rankine cycle having an evaporation means for evaporating a working medium, an expansion means expanding the evaporated working medium, a condensing means condensing the working medium from the expansion means, and a circulation pump circulating the working medium from the condensing means to the evaporation means and outputting, as a power, the expansion work of the working medium in the expansion means. The expansion means is formed of a plurality of expanders expanding the working medium stepwise, and a bypass route allowing the working medium to bypass the expanders on the next stage and subsequent and flow into the condensing means and a flow control means capable of controlling the flow rate of the working medium into the bypass route are installed at the outlet side of at least one expander.
