摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-speed electron beam excitation red light-emitting phosphor which improves luminance, lifetime, and the like, a method for manufacturing this phosphor, and a fluorescent character display tube using this phosphor. SOLUTION: The phosphor is SrTiO<SB>3</SB>:Pr, Al or Ga, and the phosphor is manufactured by firing a metal oxide obtained by calcining a powder containing an organic metal chelate of Sr, Ti, Pr, Al or Ga. By setting the amount of Al or Ga added to 0.001 to 0.3 mol times the total mol of Sr and Ti and/or the amount of Pr added to 0.00007 to 0.005 mol times the total mol of Sr, Ti, and Al, the phosphor is uniformly solid solubilized at an atomic level, has extremely small variations in the metal composition ratio and light-emitting properties among particles, and is spherical and equal in particle shape.
