PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a 3, 4-dihydroquinazoline derivative useful as a blocking agent of T-type calcium channel in nerve cells and provide a method for producing the same and a composition containing the derivative. SOLUTION: The 3, 4-dihydroquinazoline derivative or its salt is expressed by the formula. The pharmaceutical composition containing the derivative is useful for treating and preventing a large number of diseases such as angina, hypertension, myocardial disease, pains, epilepsy and the like by suppressing the calcium channel of cell membranes. In the formula, R<SB>1</SB>expresses H, OH, a halogen, an alkyl or the like; R<SB>2</SB>expresses an alkyl, a cycloalkyl or the like; R<SB>3</SB>expresses an alkyl, a cycloalkyl or the like; R<SB>4</SB>expresses X-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>l</SB>-Y-(NH)<SB>o</SB>-S(O)<SB>m</SB>-Z (X expresses O or NH; Y expresses a cycloalkyl, an aryl or the like; Z expresses the same as Y) or the like.
