PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting unit for an on-vehicle image display device with good usability capable of largely ensuring a front visual field of a driver. SOLUTION: In the mounting unit, a support arm 3 extending from a connection part 2 relative to an upper surface part of a dash board 1 to the inner side of the vehicle and having a distal end side downwardly bent is provided. A continuously provided member 6 provided with an attachment part 5 of an image display device 4 is connected to a distal end of the support arm 3 such that it is switchable to a usage attitude that the continuously provided member 6 downwardly extends from the distal end of the support arm 3 and the image display device 4 is positioned at a position opposed to a front surface of a dash board 1 and a retreating attitude that the image display device 4 is retreated from the existence position at the usage attitude. An attitude retaining means X for retaining the continuously provided member 6 to the retreating attitude is provided in the state where the continuously provided member 6 is made to the retreating attitude.
