<p>The present invention provides new methods for inhibiting the activity of the enzyme cycloxygenase 2 (or COX 2). Inhibitors of COX 2 are known to be useful anti inflammatory, analgesic and anti angiogenic agents. The compounds in the present case are heterocyclic substituted 4 aminoglutarimides. Methods of using the compounds to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis are claimed.</p> |
