ION GENERATOR AND AIR CLEANING DEVICE WITH IT MOUNTED

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion generator capable of efficiently generating positive ions and negative ions in the air even in any flow speed condition of an air flow; and to provide an air cleaning device and an air conditioner with the ion generator incorporated therein.

SOLUTION: This ion generator 70 comprises: a needle positive electrode 61 for generating positive ions by applying a positive voltage thereto; a needle negative electrode 62 for generating negative ions by applying a negative voltage thereto; and a voltage application means 40 for alternately, periodically and repeatedly applying the positive voltage to the needle positive electrode and applying the negative voltage to the needle negative electrode. The ion generator is mounted in this air cleaning device or in this air conditioner.
