PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter device capable of efficiently operating a discharge tube. SOLUTION: This inverter device is provided with a driving circuit for generating alternating voltage; a piezoelectric substrate formed with a first region polarized in a thickness direction, and a second region polarized in a length direction, and having a length almost equal to the discharge tube; primary electrodes, to which the alternating voltage is inputted, provided at the upper and lower faces of the piezoelectric substrate formed with the first region; and a secondary electrode provided at the end face of the piezoelectric substrate formed with the second region.
