PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control image unevenness with an inexpensive configuration with an optical system for performing horizontal scanning on a recording medium with a light beam and an image recording apparatus for performing image recording on the recording medium by vertical scanning approximately orthogonal with the horizontal scanning. SOLUTION: The mechanical resonance frequency in the vertical scanning direction of a supporting member for supporting the moving optical system or the recording medium is set integer times the horizontal scanning frequency.
