摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MVA liquid crystal display device in which display quality is improved. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a first substrate 2 with a first pixel electrode 12a and a second pixel electrode 12b, a second substrate 4 with a counter electrode 22 formed thereon, and a liquid crystal layer 6 sealed in between the first substrate and the second substrate. The thickness d<SB>1</SB>of the liquid crystal layer in a first pixel region 8R, 8G on the first pixel electrode is thicker than the thickness d<SB>2</SB>of the liquid crystal layer in a second pixel region 8B on the second pixel electrode. The first pixel region includes a first partial region 11a and a second partial region 13a with a threshold voltage higher than that of the first partial region. The second pixel region includes a third partial region 11b and a fourth partial region 13b with a threshold voltage higher than that of the third partial region. The threshold voltage in the first partial region and that in the third partial region are equal to each other and the threshold voltage in the second partial region and that in the fourth partial region are equal to each other.
