PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mascara applicator by which an application section with mascara can be sufficiently scraped and a person can easily apply the mascara to his/her eyelashes with the same holding hand. SOLUTION: The mascara applicator 1A is composed of a thin shaft portion 2, the application section 3 connectedly provided at one end of the thin shaft portion 2, and a handle portion 4 provided at the other end of the thin shaft portion 2. The angleαformed by a straight line L1 connecting the joint 5 between the handle portion 4 and the thin shaft portion 2 and the end 4a of the handle portion 4 opposite to the joint 5 and a straight line L2 connecting both ends of the application section 3 is 45°to 100°.
