The hub assembly for the wheel of a motor vehicle has a rotatable hub with a radial flange, and screws (10) to fasten a wheel to the hub (18), and with a corresponding number of fixing elements (30) for the screws, whereby each fixing element is in the form of an elastic ring which is inserted radially between one of the fastening holes (16) in the flange (17) and the shank (12) of a screw. Consequently, each screw is locked against a rotational movement in relation to the flange of the hub.
