<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knock type writing implement having a binder type clip member, without increasing a spring material such as a leaf spring or coil spring. <P>SOLUTION: In the knock type writing implement equipped with a projecting-retracting mechanism using a rotary cam, the clip member of which the fore end can be separated from a holder tube with the joint to the holder tube made a support point is attached to the rear end of the holder tube, while the leg of the clip member tilting in gearing with a motion of separating the fore end of the clip from the holder tube is provided in extension into the holder tube, and a regulating part with the inner wall of which a cam groove comes into contact, with the rear end of which a contactor provided in the knocker or a presser comes into contact and which regulates the movement of the knocker or the presser in the direction of the rear end of the holder tube, is formed in front of the leg. A slider thus constituted is provided to be slidable in the axial direction in gearing with tilting of the leg, and a compression coil spring is provided in front of the rotary cam.
