摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular control device capable of suppressing the effect on an occupant, an obstacle and a following vehicle to a minimum by adequately controlling a deceleration increasing means or the like provided on a vehicle based on the collision effect of the obstacle and the rear-end collision effect with the following vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicular control device comprises an obstacle detection means to detect an obstacle at least in one direction of the longitudinal direction, the side direction, and the diagonal direction of an own vehicle, an obstacle determination means to determine the kind or the like of the detected obstacle, an own vehicle running state detection means to detect the running state of the own vehicle, and a following vehicle running state detection means to detect the running state of the following vehicle, and calculates the collision probability and the collision effect based on the obstacle determination information and the running state of the own vehicle, calculates the rear end collision effect based on the running states of the own vehicle and the following vehicle and the vehicle-to-vehicle distance therebetween, calculates the total effect based on the collision effect and the rear end collision effect, and forcibly changes at least one of the advancing direction, the deceleration, and the braking capacity of the own vehicle based on the total effect. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
