<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for firing artificial aggregate capable of well reducing unburnt carbon in coal ash in a calcining region and continuously running for a long time under a high temperature atmosphere, when the artificial aggregate using coal ash with a high content of unburnt carbon as a raw material is fired in a rotary kiln. <P>SOLUTION: In firing the artificial aggregate granulated using coal ash as a major raw material in a rotary kiln, a nozzle having one or a plurality of gas blow holes is inserted at the kiln end of the rotary kiln and a gas with an oxygen content of≥10% is blown from the nozzle to the radial direction where the article to be fired is present. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
