<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for preparation of a slaked lime aqueous solution by which a slaked lime aqueous solution is continuously supplied and efficiently and continuously dissolved, an insoluble substance is suppressed from mixing into the slaked lime aqueous solution, the apparatus is made small in size with a little occupation area of the apparatus and a small number of instruments and the apparatus is easily maintained and controlled. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for preparing a slaked lime aqueous solution by dissolving slaked lime in water, a vertical circulation flow type dissolution tank having a dissolving tank divided into a plurality of sections by partition walls is used. Slaked lime powder is continuously added to the water flowing into the circulation flow type dissolution tank or into the upstream in the tank of the circulation flow type dissolution tank so as to continuously dissolve the slaked lime by an agitating effect of the water flow, as well as an insoluble substance is discharged from the tank bottom where the water flow reverses from a downward flow to an upward flow so as to decrease turbidity of the slaked lime aqueous solution flowing out from the dissolving tank.
