<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front filter for a plasma display which can prevent double reflection in a plasma display and makes possible the thinning of the plasma display and is of low cost, and the plasma display which has no double reflection and is made thin. <P>SOLUTION: This front filter 10 for the plasma display has a film 16 having a substrate and one or more functional layers having at least one kind of a function selected from a group made of an electromagnetic wave shield function, a near infrared rays shielding function, a reflection preventing function, and a color correction function, and an adhesion layer 17 formed on one side of this film 16.
