<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a projection display apparatus with less brightness deterioration due to aging in a long use from beginning to end of the use of a lamp for the projection display apparatus, further, capable of displaying an image of fixed brightness over a long period without causing white/black gradation breakage in the image. <P>SOLUTION: An accumulated lighting time as an accumulated of the lighting time from beginning the use of the lamp is recorded, and by controlling the brightness of the lamp based on prestored light emission characteristic data from beginning to end of the use of the lamp and information on the accumulated lighting time, the brightness deterioration due to aging is corrected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
