PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication method for improving the convenience of a user at the time of using a biometrics system. SOLUTION: When fingerprint information is inputted from a fingerprint sensor in a log-in validating state, the authentication priority order of each registered user is set based on the log-in information of each registered user stored in a log-in information table, and the fingerprint information of each finger registered in a fingerprint information table is collated with the inputted fingerprint information from the registered user whose set authentication priority order is a higher rank.
