PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner with an air cleaning function capable of certainly carrying out normal operation by a simple constitution not to erroneously detect for detection when a panel is opened and for detection of malfunction. SOLUTION: In a structure of the air conditioner 13, an air cleaner unit 15, and the panel 12 are attached to an air conditioner body 13. A time limit control means 3 is provided in a control part 2 as a means for preventing erroneous detection for opening and closing of the panel 12 and for detection of malfunction. Erroneous detection is prevented by determining that the panel 12 is opened if there is detection in a panel opening and closing detecting means 4 within a predetermined time after a malfunction is detected in a malfunction detecting means 6, and determining that there is a malfunction if there is no detection within the predetermined time.
