摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently operate a discharge tube suitable for a cold cathode fluorescent tube or the like. SOLUTION: This discharge tube is provided with a piezoelectric substrate formed with a first region polarized in a thickness direction, and a second region polarized in a length direction; primary electrodes provided at upper and lower faces of the piezoelectric substrate formed with the first region; a secondary electrode provided at the end face of the piezoelectric substrate formed with the second region; and a discharge means using the secondary electrode as a negative electrode or a positive electrode. Since pressure rise is performed inside the discharge tube, the discharge tube can discharge only by inputting low voltage to the discharge tube.
