PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly display a signal level irrespective of its size. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 10 is provided to detect the signal level of a voice signal and to vary the detection sensitivity of the signal level, and a display part 11 is provided to display a meter according to the signal level detected by the microcomputer 10. The microcomputer 10 reduces the detection sensitivity when the signal level continuously exceeds a first threshold value for a first predetermined time, and enhances the detection sensitivity when the signal level of the voice signal continuously drops below a second threshold value lower than the first threshold value for a second predetermined time.
