PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure roller for fixing which has fixability improved by securing an adequate nip width when incorporating the pressure roller in a fixing device or the like to heat it, and has durability of a sponge layer improved. SOLUTION: An inverted crown-like gap brought about in a flat system is completely avoided by adopting such a structure that the sponge layer of the pressure roller is thermally expanded like a normal crown when incorporating the pressure roller in a fixing device or the like and actually heating it. Furthermore, an arrangement state of a hollow path for heat dissipation in the sponge layer is devised to avoid linear stress concentration. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
