摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component which is made of deliquescent crystals and has an optical multilayer formed on its surface. SOLUTION: This is an optical component consisting of deliquescent birefringent crystals, and characterized in that it has a multilayer film formed on its surface by a chemical vapor phase deposition method and a physical vapor phase deposition method. The layer film of the 1st layer on the substrate side of the optical component is formed by the chemical vapor phase deposition method, and the layer films of the second and following layers are formed by the physical vapor phase deposition method. The 1st layer film is formed by the chemical vapor phase deposition method on the surface of the optical component consists of SiO<SB>2</SB>. A 2nd second layer film, formed by the physical vapor phase deposition method, has a refractive index higher than that of the 1st layer film. A 3rd layer film, formed on the 2nd layer film, has a refractive index smaller than the previous 2nd layer film. A 4th layer film, formed on the 3rd layer film and the subsequent layer film, are alternately formed the same as the layer film on the 2nd layer or the layer film on the 3rd layer.
