<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent electric power from being continuously fed to a radio LAN function for effectively utilizing a rechargeable battery by supplying power to the radio LAN function for connection by a radio LAN only, when the radio LAN can be used in a terminal having the radio LAN function and a function for specifying a current position. <P>SOLUTION: A portable terminal has a current position measuring means and a database in which the position of a radio LAN spot is registered.
