摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more appropriately switch the operation of a three-phase inverter as a six-element inverter and the operation of it as a four-element inverter. <P>SOLUTION: A first-phase, positive-side switching element 13 connects or disconnects a positive-side power supply node 6 and a first-phase node 22 to or from each other. A first-phase, negative-side switching element 14 connects or disconnects a negative-side power supply node 7 and the first-phase node 22 to or from each other. A second-phase, positive-side switching element 15 connects or disconnects the positive-side power supply node 6 and a second-phase node 23 to or from each other. A second-phase, negative-side switching element 16 connects or disconnects the negative-side power supply node 7 and the second-phase node 23 to or from each other. A third-phase, positive-side switching element 17 connects or disconnects the positive-side power supply node 6 and a third-phase node 24 to or from each other. A third-phase, negative-side switching element 18 connects or disconnects the negative-side power supply node 7 and the third-phase node 24 to or from each other. A switch 19 connects a terminal node 25 to either the capacitor intermediate node 21 between two capacitors connected in series between the positive-side power supply node 6 and the negative-side power supply node 7 or the second-phase node 23.
