PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load of processing for providing a file in a system, in a file providing method for providing a file of a retrieval object by keyword, a file providing system, and a server using this method, and improve the convenience by enabling providing of information not disclosed to a network or update information within an allowable range. SOLUTION: A retrieval keyword is stored in a memory 27 on receipt of a retrieval request from a predetermined computer 13 through a network 12. For a summary file formed by updating or addition, the stored retrieval keyword is read from the memory 27 and collated therewith, and when the corresponding summary file is present as the result of collation, a communication file including a copy of this summary file is formed and transmitted to the computer 13 of the retrieval requesting source.
