PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing device for estimating a displacement between images and a method for estimating the displacement. SOLUTION: The amount of displacement estimation processing device sets a plurality of specified amounts of virtual displacement and provides a correlation table in which each element corresponds to the plurality of specified amounts of virtual displacement respectively. For completion of the correlation table, attention elements to which attention is paid are sequentially set, and correlation table creation processing is executed for each attention element. An amount of displacement is estimated based on the correlation table. In the correlation table creation processing, a standard pixel which becomes a standard in a standard image is sequentially set, and a pixel which is located in a position displaced from the position corresponding to the standard pixel to the position by the amount of virtual displacement corresponding to the attention element in the object image is set as an object pixel for each standard pixel set. The pixel value of the object pixel and the pixel value of the standard pixel are referred to for deriving the correlation between the object pixel and the standard pixel.
