PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical lens which can be industrially produced by injection molding and has a high refractive index and a low birefringence. SOLUTION: The optical lens is made of polycarbonate resin prepared by polycondensating a dihydroxy compound presented by general formula (1) of 90-5 mol% and a dihydroxy compound presented by general formula (2) of 10-95 mol% by the use of diethyl carbonate while forming carbonate linkage. In the formulas, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are independently hydrogen atom,<SB>1-20</SB>C alkyl group,<SB>1-20</SB>C alkoxyl group,<SB>5-20</SB>C cyclo-alkyl group,<SB>5-20</SB>C cyclo-alkoxyl group and<SB>6-20</SB>C allyl group or<SB>6-20</SB>C allyloxy group. X is<SB>2-8</SB>C alkylene group,<SB>5-12</SB>C cyclo-alkylene group or<SB>6-20</SB>C allylene group, and n and m are integers of 1 to 10.
