PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plunger pump having improved quietness. SOLUTION: In the pump, the outer peripheral face of an outer ring 72 of a bearing 66 externally fitted to an eccentric portion 64 of a cam shaft 60 engages with the front end of a plunger piston 42 for reciprocating motion of the piston 42 with the rotation of the cam shaft 60. At an engagement position between the piston 42 and the outer ring 72, a mechanism is provided for restricting the position change of the outer ring 72 in the axial direction. Thus, no need exists for engagement of the outer ring 72 at both ends with the cam shaft 60, therefore effectively suppressing abutting noises resulting from the repeated abutment and separation of the outer ring 72 at the ends and vibration resulting from the operation of moving force of the outer ring 72 on the cam shaft 60. The outer peripheral face of the outer ring 72 is a globoidal face for restricting the position change of the outer ring 72 from the piston 42 in the axial direction. Desirably, the front end of the piston 42 is shaped into a convex face and the outer peripheral face of the outer ring 72 is a globoidal face which has a radius of curvature larger than that of the convex face.
