Device for capacitive measurement and or monitoring of the filling level of a medium (1) in a container (2) has at least a filling level probe (5) and at least an electronic unit (10) which generates a voltage control signal for controlling the filling level probe. The electronic unit is configured so that it controls the filling level probe by application of a voltage control signal at regular intervals. An independent claim is made for a method for capacitive determination and or monitoring of the filling level of a medium in a container.
