<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological light measurement apparatus for imaging a change in the bloodstream due to a brain activity and to develop an image generating algorithm capable of displaying a position of a brain activity with high precision. <P>SOLUTION: Brain activities of a subject are detected at a plurality of sampling points distributed on the scalp of the subject. The spacial intensity distribution of the changes in the bloodstream is generated by subjecting the detection results to a spacial interpolation processing. The signal intensity distribution is then subjected to a threshold processing and a signal intensity distribution of coordinates having signal intensities stronger than the predetermined threshold is extracted. Information regarding positional deviations between the brain activity positions and the maximum positions of the signal intensity distribution (Fig.11, not shown) which are generated when preparing the signal intensity distribution is stored in advance in a computer (a recording section) of the biological light measurement apparatus. The signal intensity distribution extracted by the threshold processing is then corrected in reference to the stored positional deviation information. With such a method, the positions of brain activities can be estimated more precisely and a diagnosis of a position of a cerebral disease and a treatment on the basis of the diagnostic result can be conducted more precisely. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
