<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston type accumulator 1 for providing a relatively large shock absorbing effect. <P>SOLUTION: In the piston type accumulator 1, a piston 6 is inserted into a cylinder 2 to form a gas chamber 7, and gas exerting gas spring action is sealed in the gas chamber 7. A throttle mechanism 15 exerting dumper action is also disposed to the gas chamber 7.
