<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine the deterioration of an actual nozzle opening detecting means (a lift sensor). <P>SOLUTION: The target nozzle opening of a variable nozzle type supercharger is calculated depending on an operated condition (a fuel injection amount Qf and an engine speed Ne) (Step 12), while the actual nozzle opening of the variable nozzle type supercharger is detected (Step 13). When the variation of an accelerator pedal opening during deceleration is smaller than a predetermined value and an intake air amount Qa is increased, the surge of the variable nozzle type supercharger is detected (Step 2), and the deterioration of the actual nozzle opening detecting means is determined in accordance therewith (Step 14). When the deterioration is detected, the correction amount of the actual nozzle opening is calculated (Step 15) and the actual nozzle opening is corrected to be open in accordance with the correction amount to attain the target nozzle opening (Step 16). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
