PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general-purpose X-ray inspection device, capable of inspecting both of articles for permitting the contact with an X-ray shielding curtain and an article not permitting the contact with the X-ray shielding curtain with a single X-ray inspection device, while certainly preventing the leak of X-rays to the outside of the X-ray inspection device using the X-ray shielding curtain. SOLUTION: The heiht position of the feed surface of a feed-in conveyor 5 is made alterable with respect to the feed surface of a feed conveyor 6 the X-ray shielding curtain 41 on the side of a feed-in port can be made to alter, when the article M capable of permitting the contact with the feed-in conveyor is inspected; the X-ray shielding curtain 41 is allowed to be present on the feed surface of the feed-in conveyor 5 to make the feed surface of the feed-in conveyor 5 and the feed surface of the feed conveyor 6 to be almost the same in height. When the article which does not permit contact with the X-ray shielding curtain 41, the X-ray shielding curtain 41 is moved by a predetermined distance (m), not only to be allowed from the feed surface of the feed-in conveyor 5, but also to make the feed surface of the feed in conveyor 5 higher than the feed surface of the feed conveyor 6 by a predetermined distance (n).
