PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera discriminating the owner from users other than the owner, and limiting erasion of photographing data by the other users and browsing display. SOLUTION: The digital camera applies predetermined signal processing to an electric signal converted from an optical image to generate a video signal, stores the video signal, and displays a picked-up video image. The digital camera is provided with: a user setting means for setting discrimination information with characters, symbols, voice or a face image etc. to discriminate the owner from a plurality of users; a usage function setting means for setting a photographing function to be used for each user; and a use permission determining means for determining permission of a user and enabling photographing with the usage photographing function on the basis of the discrimination information of the user.
