PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set chapter position information of a video recording program to be newly video-recorded, based on the chapter position information which is set to a prerecorded program. SOLUTION: Chapter information 1 is selected from the chapter position information 105 which is held in a chapter position information recording part 104 concerning the program A of the video recording programs 102 which are held in a video recording program information recording part 101. Accordingly, a user easily set the chapter information 1 relative to the program A. When the user manually sets a chapter position with respect to the program Z of the video recording programs 102, the chapter position information Z is held in the video recording program information recording part 101 and also automatically held in the chapter position information recording part 104.
