PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system, its defective location specifying method and an information processor for instantaneously specifying a defective device when time-out is detected concerning a request issued from a processor to the device, and for improving availablity to restore it in an early stage. SOLUTION: This system controller is provided with a first register 301 which stores the execution time of requests issued by processors 111 to 114, and an input/output controller 118 is provided with a second register 302 which stores the identification information of devices 131-1 to 131-n being the targets of the requests, and a service processor 120 reads the register information of the processors 111 to 114 written in a main storage device 117, and reads the first register 301 and the second register 302, and specifies the defective devices 131-1 to 131-n, and displays them on a console.
