PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method by which the texture of a natural stone can be given to the surface to be coated by adopting a new coating technique for blotting a paint droplet in a water droplet and applying/fixing the paint droplet-blotted water droplet to the surface to be coated. SOLUTION: This coating method comprises: a base color paint coating step to apply/fix base color paint to the whole surface 2 to be coated of the member to be coated; a water spraying step to spray water toward the base color paint-coated surface 3 dried after the base color coating step so that many water droplets 4 are sprayed; and a paint spraying step to spray water paint of the color different from the base color toward the water-sprayed surface so that many paint droplets 5 are sprayed before the sprayed water droplets are dried. The paint droplets sprayed at the paint spraying step are blotted in the water droplets sprayed at the water spraying step, which are then spread onto the base color paint-coated surface.
