PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method for spray-coating the plate-like object to be coated such as a printed circuit board with a coating material such as a solder resist, by which a failure caused by a surplus mist is eliminated and the uniformity of coating film thickness is improved. SOLUTION: The plate-like object to be coated is spray-coated intermittently with the coating material so that coated patterns are superimposed on one another and a continuous coating film is formed on the surface of the plate-like object to be coated, namely, the centers of the adjacent three coated patterns constitute the vertexes of a triangle, respectively.
