The device has a projection system (1) for projecting a real image onto a light scattering device for a reflection of the real image in the direction of the windscreen of the motor vehicle. The projection system consists of a number of individual, independent projection units (2a-2e) arranged in a row that is horizontal relative to the bottom of the vehicle and transverse to the direction of travel. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle with an inventive device.
