Process and assembly to apply a sleeve wrapper to cigarette packets by adhesive and sideways transfer

In a process to produce cigarette packets, each packet is wrapped in a sleeve surrendered from a sleeve feed station (33). Adhesive is applied to the segmented wrappers as they advance through the feed station. The wrapper is then applied to the packet as a sleeve, leaving overhang at the ends. The packet is then shifted sideways by a further conveyer (23) and the overhang folded. The packets are then discharged to two removal lines (48, 49). Also claimed is a commensurate sleeve wrapping assembly.
