<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain airbag device whereby release to the outside of a vehicle is prevented even when window glass is broken or a pillar is deformed in side collision of the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The curtain airbag device comprises an acceleration sensor 14L for detecting side collision of the vehicle; a curtain airbag 20L including a body part 22 housed in a roof 30 of the vehicle and lowering to an inner side of the door in order to cover a window at the time of deployment, and a release preventing part 24 formed on a part of the device body and extending along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle so that a part thereof is abutted to the pillar 38 and/or the doors 38 and 39 in order to prevent release to the outside of the vehicle; and an ECU 20 for deploying the curtain airbag based on information from a collision detection sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
