<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device (2) which allows jam removal to be easily performed even when taking out a recording paper from between a pressure roll (104) and a fixing roll (102)and/or between the fixing roll and an endless belt (110) in the case that a jam occurs with the recording paper caught between the pressure roll and the fixing roll and/or the recording paper wound around the fixing roll and caught between the fixing roll and the endless belt. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device has an open/close cover (6) which constitutes a partial area of a main body housing (4) and is arranged so as to be freely opened to an open position and closed to a close position, and a press-contact/press-contact release means (139) acting on a revolving shaft of the pressure roll.
