<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent ion conductive membrane satisfactory both in ion conductivity and chemical stability to methanol, and provide a fuel cell excellent in reliability and having a high performance. <P>SOLUTION: This is the ion exchange membrane which is superior in methanol resistance and stability by crosslinking a part of acidic functional groups by heat-treating the ion exchange membrane having the acidic functional groups. The performance and the durability of the fuel cell which is actuated using a liquid fuel or a gas fuel as raw materials are improved, the effect is provided that the durability is improved in the fuel cell for example, and that the cross-leakage of the methanol in a direct methanol fuel cell is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
